First Time
Making a Character
You can't change the gender of your character and there are only 2 choices of tops and pants. Gender of your character depends on the Gender you set your account too.
Entering the Game
When you choose the Server and channel there will be alot of places you can visit
Shopping Mall
The shopping mall is a place where you can use your NX points (cash) or Beats that you earn in the game to purchase various items, clothing, hairstyles, pets, etc. for your character. The Music mall will allow you to listen to the music that is available in the game. You can't purchase music here.
Dance Hall
This is the dance hall where you can face other players in dance competitions or compete in the story mode.
Ranking
This will show where you currently are on the ranking system. It will also show the couple ranking as well
My Home
This mode is not available yet in the North American version of Audition.
Beginner Server
When you first start the game you'll have access to the Beginner and Free Server until you reach level 6. You can bypass this using the Beginner Pass Item in the Cash Shop. If this is your first time playing I would suggest you use the Beginner Server. When you first enter the channel you'll be automatically sent to the tutorial. You can't skip so just beat it. Also while your lvl 5 or lower without the Beginner Pass you can't make a room in the Free Server. Several modes in the Beginner Server are Practice Mode-4 key, Normal individual, choreography, Team mode, One-Two Party, Beat UP.
Practice Mode-4key
Similar to the tutorial it will show you the proper time to press the space key. But you can't go pass a certain level of dance moves. Score is dependent on how how many perfects, great, cools, bad and misses you get. Also chaining perfects increase the score as well. All modes will be scored this way.
Normal Individual-Beginner
Normal Individual combines some set moves which will show on the screen. It will also show some Freestyle moves and Finish moves. It also has a level move restriction to help people new to the game get a handle on the control scheme.
Choreography
Choreography will only let you play set moves and finish moves.
Group mode
This mode depends on teams you can have a set of (2 vs 2) or (3 vs 3) but it must be an even amount of players in the team. This mode will add up all the score of your teammates. In other words if your doing great and your first the outcome actually depends on all of you.
Boys vs Girls
This mode is available in all Team modes and Night Dances. The way this mode will show up is well if one team is all boys and the other team is all girls. Besides the Title that says Boys vs Girls there is also a random bonus and scene when you win it.
One Two Party
This mode is very different to the other modes in the game. In this mode you must use the number pad there is no tutorial for this mode or tell you what key to press. But the main controls you use is 4,8,6,2. If the NPC yells Go! you press the Space Bar and if it says Yeah! press the 5 key. In this mode a random NPC will show up yelling a bunch of numbers, Yeah and Go. You have to follow the beat exactly as the NPC says it with the number they say it. There is 2 modes for One Two Party. Easy mode which will show the numbers and the corresponding arrows and Hard mode which will show nothing.
Beat UP
This mode is similar to the Dance Dance Revolution Series. It will show arrows moving towards the middle speed depending on the song you choose and on the bottom when the 2 lights touch the middle you must press the spacebar. You must use the number pad and space bar when playing this mode. When it says to press the chance key which is the Delete key by the way you must not hit the red arrows touching the arrows will give you a miss.
Free Server
The free server is available to all level of players but for players below level 5 you cannot make a room in this server but you are allowed to join a room.You will also be allowed to chance and 8 key certain modes. You can activate chance by pressing the Delete key. A C should show up which means chance mode. When red arrows show up you must press the opposite key for example if a red left key shows up you need to press right. 8 key can be activated by pressing the insert key. 8 key is active when the number 8 shows up instead of 4. To play this mode you need to use the number pad to play. These modes can make the game more difficult make sure you know what your doing.
Licence Mode
Licence mode is only available if you get a certain amount of exp and level. Passing this mode will allow you increase your level by one. A certain range of levels is place within a rank. Levels 1-5 will give you the Poser Rank which gives you access to the Beginner Server. Levels 6-10 gives you the Bopper Rank which will allow you to make rooms in the Free Server but deny access in the Beginner Server.You will be given a set or requirements in order to pass.
Practice 8 Key
Similar to Practice 4 Key this will allow you to practice 8 key mode. It will show the numberpad and the time to press the space bar. This is a great mode if you want to make the switch from 4 key to 8 key.
Story Mode
Recently added in 2008 Story mode will take you to another world. Where you'll meet a group of Characters fighting against someone named Stephanie. Similar to licence mode you need to pass a certain requirement to go further into the story. Each chapter is ranked and you need to beat it in order to unlock more of the stories. This mode is extremely hard.
Normal Individual
Similar to the beginner server version of Normal Individual. Besides expanding the level of move sets and freestyle moves you can also 8 key and chance in this mode. Also finishing moves will have red arrow keys unlike the beginner server.
Choreography Mode-C4
Similar to the beginner server version this choreography mode has expanded it level moves and finish moves with the red arrow keys.
Crazy Choreography Mode-CC4
Like Choreography mode this one has alot more levels to it. On the side of this mode feature the crazy meter which increase when you do crazy mode. Additional points is added when doing the Crazy Finishing moves. This mode is difficult and not recommended for players new to the game.
Freestyle Mode
This mode allows you to come up with your own routine in Audition. Different Freestyle moves will be posted in the freestyle section of this guide.
Dynamic 4-D4
Dynamic 4 is a new mode available in the free server. Similar to choreography mode each player has to make their own freestyle move.
Battle Party-BP
Theres many different modes of battle parties but the main purpose of the battle party is to create a team to beat the NPC. Nexon has used these battle parties for contests as well an example of this is the Nastasha Beddingfield contest where if you beat her and take a screenshot of it you might be able to win.In order to participate in a battle party you will be required to spend beats to get it.
Normal BP
This battle party is all players in the room vs 1 NPC. Sounds easy right its not the NPC in this mode can chain perfects like nothing so its better if you get a team to beat it.
Beat UP BP
Haven't tried this mode yet will get more information about it soon.
Union BP
Union BP is a 3 on 3 match with the NPC. Two modes are available in the game Choreo Free and Choreo 4.This mode has recently been added in July of 2008.
