Sniper Bait
Get yourself holed up into a position that has a good vantage point where you can snipe the enemy, as well as take cover under fire, that has only 1 or 2 entrances. Claymore both entrances, and be defensive about your sniping. If you're found out, just take cover and hope they come in after you.
Martyrdom
Contrary to popular belief, this is NOT the best low-level Slot 3 perk. In fact, there are Slot 3 perks that you start with that are better than any you unlock. Martyrdom is, at best, a perk that will get you a kill once every ten deaths, maybe a little bit less if you're on a small map. Not only that, but think about it for a second. You actually have to die for it to have any effect, the only perk in the game that death is a requirement for activation. For a much more effective usage of the third slot, choose Steady Aim. It's effective with any automatic, and even most semi-automatic weapon. Having a better hip-fire accuracy can lead to any weapon being more effective in a desperate close-range battle, and will likely save your life on more than one occasion.
Heavy Weapons
In levels where the walls are destructable, but quite strudy, use heavy weapons. Great for hitting people you spot on the map from the other side of the room.
Hole Watcher
Numerous maps have small holes that require crawling to pass through. This renders the enemy defenseless from an angle and is a great time to practice your knife skills.
These are also ideal locations for a Claymore mine.
Secret Level
Some might have a little problem finishing the "secret level" after the game is finished. Whichever difficulty you choose to complete it on, do NOT rely on your teammates, also, don't hesitate and use your flashes.
This Isn't Halo
Don't ever try to Grenade Jump. You'll end up killing yourself. You might also notice that jumping repeatedly, or "bunny hopping" won't get you very far either.
Camping
Many people see camping as a way for snipers to get their bread and butter but almost anyone can find a suitable area without having to become a sniper. Look for places that you know an enemy won't have a route to get around and flank you from behind. Once you find ur sweet spot be patient. Let them come to you.
Be Hidden
Many people go for the big guns, the ones that deal lots of damage, but you can find great weapons that have silencers as unlockables and can give you a great advantage with the right perks. Take the M16 for example: Unlock silencer for it and equip it. Go to second perk and unlock UAV Jammer. You are now fully removed from the enemy's UAV and can do as you please.
Trick Jumps
There are a lot of areas that are only accessible through a few jumps and many areas that can be more quickly accessed through a few jumps. Boot up a private match on any of the maps and do some exploring to find where jumping can be helpful. Getting on top of the center building in backlot is a good example.
