Attributes

Every time you level-up, you will be awarded Skill Points which you can apply to any four attributes. You be giving the chance to allocate the points once you return to the World Map.

• Strength: Adding Skill Points to strength will raise the damage you deal out every time you hit a foe with a melee attack.

• Magic: Increasing your magic attribute will raise the rate in which your magic meter refills and will raise the damage and overall power of your characters magic. You will also gain new magic abilities when you reach each of the faded purple Skill Point markers.

• Defense: This will increase your overall health.

• Agility: Adding Skill Points to agility will increase your attack speed, arrow range and damage dealt by arrows.

Leveling Up & the Boomerang Trick

Castle Crashers awards experience based on hits rather than damage. This means the more hits it takes you to kill an enemy, the more xp you will earn. This actually makes strength a counter productive stat to leveling.

The easiest and fastest way to level up is to exploit the leveling system in the game. For this you will need the boomerang (see below on how to attain it). The giraffe animal orb is optional, but highly advantageous as it makes you level faster. This method works perfectly well playing Insane Mode since it takes a longer time to kill bosses.

Go to Pipistrello's Cave and move through the cave until you get to the large bat boss. Let him drop his turds then move to the top left corner and charge your boomerang, wait for the bat to almost arrive then launch the boomerang. It should get stuck behind him, continually doing damage. Block while the bat is attacking so you don't take damage. You should level up to whichever level you want in no time. This works on both the normal and insane game mode.

If you looking to make some money along with leveling up, there is simple trick that can be used to get both. Follow the above guide to level boosting in Pipistrello's Cave. Now, the trick to get the most money and experience to simply exit the game, and go back into it. This way, the money is put back into the last cave, allowing you get thousands in no time.

Arc's Method:

1. Use boomerang to boost experience off of Pipistrello (if haven't leveled, repeat until you level up)
2. If you didn't level up, don't "Exit to Map". After you beat Pipistrello, simply walk out the way you came in, and go back into the cave. Everything will be reset (except for money if it's already been taken)
3. Grab money at the end of Pipistrello's Cave
4. Beat Barbarian Boss
5. Grab money at the end of Barbian Boss
6. Start -> Exit Game
7. Go back into your game
8. Repeat above steps until you reached your desired level / bankroll

This trick can be done similarly at the Cat Fish boss. Drop into the stage and get onto whichever floating object is sent your way. As soon as the bubbles appear in the water, charge the boomerang and let it fly. As the cat fish rises, the boomerang will get stuck behind it rewarding fast and easy xp. Just block until the boss dies or submerges. Exit to map and you can go back in to repeat the process.

There are many other bosses to which the boomerang tricks works wonders. The barbarian boss is another prime target for the trick. He moves slow making it rather easy to hook the boomerang to his back. You may have to execute the trick a few times as his shield slam will get him out of the trick. Just dodge out of the way of the slam and hook him with the rang again. This will not only earn you quick xp, but it will earn you the massive treasure chest as well for a quick 100+ gold. This will also help with some rapid advancement when replaying as a new character after finishing the game.

• NOTE - The boomerang trick has been reported to cause a graphical glitch that requires an exit to dashboard to fix. This seems to occur when you level and kill the boss using the boomerang trick. Be wary of letting a boss die to the boomerang. If you do cause the graphical glitch, hit start, up, up, a, up, a. This is the sequence to get you back to the map which should save your stats before you head off to the dashboard.

Coin Boosting

Here is a simple method that will net you infinite amount of coins. Here you can get 2800 coins easily (enough to buy all Animal Orbs from all shops) in a matter of minutes. This is an easy way to get the "Animal Herder" Achievement worth 20gp.

1. Level your character to around 40-50 to make things easier
2. Go to the Barbarian Boss. You should be able to defeat him easily, especially if you have high strength. At level 55, I took him down in 2 air combos.
3. Open the treasure chest and run around collection all the coins before they disappear. You should get somewhere between 100-140 coins everytime.
4. Once all coins are collected, don't waste time cutting down the princess. Simply exit map, and start again.

Items

The Traitor

This is an achievement where you need to defeat an enemy boss by playing as one of his on men. This doesn't mean that once you unlock a enemy character you can use him to defeat any boss to unlock this achievement. You actually need to defeat a boss with one of the soldiers of his level. The easiest and fastest way to do this, is to unlock the Barbarian character by defeating the King's Arena in the game. Now select to play as the Barbarian and simply fight your way through to the Barbarian Boss and defeat him. He is the first boss of the game, therefore playing as the Barbarian is the quickest way to achieve this requirement.

Mysterious "X" and secret weapon

When you have completed the game, you will appear back in the Home Castle level where you will receive a kiss from the last princess. Before you do however, go to the right to find a thief firing arrows at a target. In the hay directly in front of the thief is an "X". When you play the Home Castle as an actual level and "X" isn't there.

There have been rumors going around that there is a super secret weapon that is unlocked in campaign. The rumor is that you must beat the final boss using every weapon at least once. Then you can dig it up where the mysterious "X" is at the end to find this possible secret weapon.

unlock kings weapon

this is by far the hardest thing to do ever in castle crashers. in insane mode, on flowery field you must stay alive while the bees and bee keepers kill the king. he will drop his weapon and you must rush to get it.

Conscientious Objector

This can only be obtained in co-op. Play through the Home Castle to Barbarian Boss levels with a friend let him kill everyone while you attack no one. You should get this achievement once your friend kills the barbarian boss.

Arenas

Beating some of the arenas is very simple. When the battle starts, run to the cat on the left side (if the arena has one) and stand against the wall directly beneath the cat. Enemies will exit the doors confused and not all attack you. Some will come straight for you, others will run above the cat and attack air, and the rest run around. The higher stage, the more enemies will come attack you, so make sure to bring a few potions and it'll be a sure thing.

Level 79 - Max Level 99

You max all your abilities at level 78. Although, all the leader boards show level 99's on top. How can this be? Most, if not all on the leader boards are boosted (look above) in Insane Mode.

Is there any difference between 79 - 99?

Not really, especially online. The only difference is your HP will continue to go up by 3+ points every level, and apparently other attributes will rise as well, although it's not visible in the Player Statics menu. Things such as combo damage and % of critical hits might increase by going above level 79.

Beating Insane Mode

Spoiler: Do not read below if you are interested in playing the insane mode.

For those of you still reading, and asking yourselves if there is anything "special" about beating the game on Insane Mode? (besides bragging rights) The answer is no. Nothing further is unlocked due to beating it on insane, nor is there a separate / alternate ending. You do receive a golden skull on your character for beating insane mode though.

Jump Attacking

A quick strategy for anyone wondering why the boss fights are so hard. Be sure to level up your strength attribute, now this is somewhat of a glitch but everytime you fight any enemy, it is possible to juggle them and sometimes, in cases of bosses, jump inside them and carry on attacking.

Jump at the enemy (such as the Dragon and Sock Puppet, and continually mash X then Y repeatedly, your character will seem like he is bouncing, and you will notice a lot of damage being dealt, perform this on many bosses (especially the end boss in his balloon form) to get an easier ride.

Multi-players HP

When one of your friends is dead and a "y" is flashing above his dead body you can re-animate him by pressing the "y" button as fast as you can but this will give him a very small amount of energy. If you check you can see a bar and a heart in the middle with a bar traveling from side to side if you press the "y" button each time the bar comes above the heart, you will re-animate him with a nearly full hp bar.

Multi-players sharing levels

This is a little bit tricky. I don't know if there is a faster way to do this but here is the way I found to do this trick.

CONDITIONS :

You will share your levels with the same character: if you're blue you will share lvs with blue on an another profile.

You can't share more than 9 levels example: (0-9 10-19 20-29 works) (0-55 20-78 0-99 does not work or you may level down to 0 your buddy's character)

Tested on main characters only (red orange blue green knights) if you do this on unlocked characters be sure the other profile has unlocked the same character.

1: Sign-in to the X-BOX PROFILE you want to share; example lvl 29.

2: Go to barbarian boss and beat him collect your $$$ kiss the princess.

3: When you return to the map DON'T DO ANYTHING but pressing the big X-BOX button on the center of your controller.

4: Sign-out of your profile.

5: Sign-in to the other profile you want to share; example lvl 20.

6: When you return to the game : the game will tell you that a user profile as signed out and you will return to the main menu of Castle Crashers.

7: Just go to the characters page and you will notice that the lvl 20 knight is now lvl 29.

Now have fun and use your imagination with 4 players with the boomerang trick on the catfish which is much faster to reach and see how you can level up much faster and unlock awesome characters!
