This is the central hub for the Final Fantasy series of games. The first Final Fantasy appeared in 1987, the brainchild of Japanese game developer Hironobu Sakaguchi as a last-ditch effort to save the then near-bankrupt SquareSoft corporation. Needless to say, it worked, and the series is very much alive and well even today, with the thirteenth official installment of the series coming in late 2008. This page is also home to the myriad offshoots bearing the Final Fantasy name, including the Tactics and Chocobo series, among many others.
