When It's Empty, Throw it at Someone
During missions requiring guns, use your ammo up (try to conserve) first, before even thinking about throwing the gun at someone. Throwing your gun is the last resort for you, and does a lot of damage when it hits someone.
Adjust the Brightness
It can be difficult to clearly see things in this game, so it is important that the game's brightness is adjusted properly. This can be done from the pause menu under options.
Use Your Ears
If you can, use a stereo or headphones while playing this game. Enemies can often be located by sound.
Stuck Objects
This game has a physics engine; objects can be pushed or moved around. Sometimes an object will lodge itself in a doorway preventing you from proceeding. Kick these objects out of the way.
Bum Fights
Many of the enemies in this game are motivated by pure rage. They will just as soon fight each other as fight you. If you see multiple enemies, stand back and let them fight each other.
Doorways
The best place to fight in this game is often doorways. Use doorways to keep bad guys in front of you. This also lets you fight them one at a time, if there is group of them. They may even fight each other if they can't get to you.
Flashlight
Turn off your flashlight to sneak up on enemies. It has unlimited batteries, so keep it on when exploring.
Subtitles
Turn on subtitles in the options menu. These makes investigations and radio messages easier to understand, and sometimes let you know when enemies are nearby.
Kick Them While They're Down
If you knock down an enemy, normal melee attacks will not hit them. If you don't want them to get back up, use your kick attack.
