Avoiding Random Encounters

In Crisis Core, it is possible to avoid getting into many random encounters if you so choose. Though this is not advisable if you're trying to level up and be prepared for boss fights, it can be helpful if you need to escape an area with low health and no means of healing yourself. To do this, simply hug the walls or outer edges of a path instead of moving across the center of an area; battles are often triggered by entering an area that's large enough to stage a fight, so sticking to the sides prevents this.

Keep the Camera Rotating

Throughout your travels in the world of Crisis Core, never leave your camera in the same angle for too long. Oftentimes a treasure chest will be obscured from view by an object in the foreground, and the only way to get around this is to keep the camera moving whenever possible.

Attack From Behind

Enemies in Crisis Core are far more susceptible to attack from behind than they are from the front. Attacking a foe's back often results in a critical strike, so it's well worth the effort of running behind them instead of just mashing the attack button on the enemy nearest you.

Raising Levels

Note that just because you have gained enough Experience for the next level does not mean you will automatically raise the level. You must first get a 777 (three 7's in a row) on your DMW before you can raise a level, which can oftentimes mean you'll raise several levels at once if you've accumlated a lot of Experience.
