Protect Your Mages!

The magic users in Disgaea 3 are universally weak in that they have low HP and aren't very resistant to physical attacks. Since the majority of the enemies in the game deal damage primarily through physical attacks, it would behoove you to throw up a barrier of your beefier, higher-HP melee fighters in front of your mages at all times to separate them from your foes. That way your fighters can deal their physical attacks up close while your back-row mages cast spells at a safe distance.

Obviously, on stages primarily populated with spell-casting enemies, you're going to want characters with high magic resistance up front, or at least close enough to an enemy to hit them with your magic, since they will typically attack you with their spells from a distance.

Getting Rank 39 Legendary Weapons and Armor

The easiest way to get these items are through Reverse Pirating, all you need is a tier 6 thief with lucky finger evility and the Land of Carnage. When going through Reverse Pirating have the tier 6 thief attack all the green chest. You can get all the weapons on floors 20-80, but if you're going for Arcadia, you can only get it on floor 100.
