Obtaining Yuffie
Yuffie can be found in almost all forest areas; just wander around in them until you enter a battle screen with her. After defeating her in battle, you'll go to a small map area that has a save point.
Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THE SAVE POINT AND DO NOT OPEN YOUR MENU!
Examine her to initiate a conversation. The responses you should give are:
- Not interested.
- ...petrified.
- Wait a second!
- ...That's right.
- ...Let's hurry on.
After those responses you should be able to leave the area and she will be in your party when you're back on the overworld map.
Obtaining Knights of the Round Materia
First, you will need to get a Gold Chocobo. You can do that by getting a "Good" male chocobo and a "Great" female chocobo, feeding each of them between 90-100 Sylkis Greens, and racing them both to "S" class at the Gold Saucer.
Mate them with a Carob Nut and you should either get a blue or green chocobo. Do the same thing you did with this chocobo as you did with its parents and when you finish with that, its parents should be able to mate again. Make sure to save before the mating.
If you already had a (male/female) green chocobo keep trying until you get a blue; vice-versa, if you already had a blue chocobo, you'll want to keep trying until you get a green. Just remember that the second chocobo should be the opposite gender of the first.
Again, feed it Sylkis Greens and race it up to "S" class.
Once you have the 2 chocobos, make sure they're both "S" class and able to mate, then mate them with a Carob Nut. If it doesn't come out as a black female chocobo you'll want to keep trying until it does.
When you get your black female chocobo, feed it 90 Sylkis Greens, and race it to "S" Class.
Next, you need to catch a "Wonderful" chocobo. Go around the world map looking for chocobo tracks and keep catching them until a "Wonderful" one appears. Feed it and race it up to "S" class, then mate the "S" Class Black female chocobo with the "S" Class male "Wonderful" chocobo with a Zeio Nut.
Congratulations, you should now have a Gold Chocobo.
NOTE: You could bypass all this by defeating the Ruby Weapon, getting the Desert Rose, and taking it to the Old Man who tells you how many beasts you've defeated. Then head toward the Materia Cave at the top-right corner of the map for your Gold Chocobo.
Obtaining the Huge Materia from Rocketship
The code you need to type is Circle, Square, X, X. If you enter the code incorrectly, leave and then come back. Otherwise this won't work.
Obtaining Cloud's Lv. 4 Limit Break: Omnislash
You can do this twice.
- During your initial trip to the Gold Saucer. However, the price will be slightly steep; 64,000 BP.
- Much later, and you will only need to pay 32,000, though the battles will be much harder.
- Note: You cannot leave the Battle Arena for any reason. If you do, all BP that you have gained thus far will be lost.
Obtaining Cloud's Final Weapon: Ultimate Weapon
Remember the creature that you had to fight during Cloud's unconscious scene. Well, it seems this creature (Ultimate Weapon) now flies around the world, stopping at random places. And you must clash with him several times onboard the highwind. The last time you fight with him. He will drop Cloud's most powerful weapon: The Ultima Weapon.
- Note: If you see Ultimate Weapon stopping at Midgar. Do not pursue it. What will happen is that the Midgar raid event will take place instead.
Don't get caught in a Back Attack
When a Back Attack occurs during a random encounter, tap L1 + R1 to begin running. When you release L1 + R1 to stop running and your party will now be facing the enemy. Remember though that your back row characters are now in the front and vice versa.
