Cover
If you take cover behind a car, make sure you blow it up first show that it doesn't explode when you're behind it. Also try to blow the cars your fighters take cover behind.
Using the Environment
Shoot out cars and barrels to take enemy soldiers and conserve ammo.
Look for Special Vehicles
Certain cars usually have certain power-ups associated with them, ambulances have health and police cars have ammo or weapons for instance, so be on the look out for these vehicles.
Replace Your Fighters
It's usually best to save your med kits for yourself or a civilian rather than giving them to a downed fighter, instead just recruit a fresh fighter to replace your loss as you aren't penalized for doing so.
Maintain Control of Your Fighters
Use the defend and follow commands commands on your fighters to keep them from dying needlessly, their AI is decent but not as good as your judgment.
Sniping Priority
You usually only get five bullets when you find a sniper rifle in a level so choose your shots wisely, such as enemies in towers, other snipers, and enemies on mounted machine guns.
Quick Saves
Quick save whenever you can to keep from having to redo things as there are no other checkpoints in place in the game.
Head Shots and Damage
Head shots are a one shot kill with sniper rifles but don’t seem to do much more damage than body shots with the other guns so don’t bother aiming for the head when precise aiming unless you really want to.
