Portal is a unique 3D puzzle game. You use a portal gun to maneuver through a series of rooms specially constructed to test your ability to use portals to their maximum effect.
The portal gun shoots out two portals: an entrance and an exit. Walk through one portal and you'll come out the other. Proper placement of the portals is a key aspect of the game. Momentum is conserved when passing through the portals, which allows for surprising aerial maneuvers. Fall through one portal and you'll fly out the other. Figuring out how to use these unusual physics is part of the fun of the game.
