How to Get the Map Pack

To download the map pack, sign into Xbox LIVE on your Xbox 360 and then go to the Marketplace blade. Select "Game Store," then select "All Games." Scroll down to "Halo 3" (you can hold down the right trigger to scroll a page at a time) and select it. Finally, select the "Heroic Map Pack," then select "Confirm Download."

Heroic Map Pack

Halo® 3 players will be able to enjoy three all new multiplayer maps on December 11 as part of the Heroic Map Pack, the first in a series of downloadable content from Bungie Studios to come via Xbox LIVE®. Update: The Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack is now available as a free download.

Standoff

The symmetrical valley of Standoff, with its entrenched bases and fields of boulders is ideal for mid-sized objective and Slayer game types

Rat's Nest

The vast, labyrinthine passages of the Rat's Nest bring something completely new to the multiplayer experience: an indoor vehicle paradise. Strongly influenced by the Campaign mode, this map is ideal for big team battles.

Foundry

Foundry is the ultimate Forge map. Players can edit every single object in this voluminous industrial warehouse, placing stairways, walls, bridges, and tunnels to create an entirely new play space and build almost any kind of map imaginable.

Legendary Map Pack

Microsoft and Bungie announced that April 15 marks the release of the next wave of Halo 3 downloadable content. Available exclusively on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points, the Legendary Map Pack introduces three new maps to the award-winning multiplayer experience—Ghost Town, Avalanche, and Blackout. With the addition of some exciting Forge options, explore new ways to create and share your custom Halo 3 content.

Ghost Town

This map is a battle-scarred maze of narrow passages and dangerous ruins outside the once-prosperous city of Voi. Collapsed ceilings and shell-battered buildings provide both valuable cover and deadly traps, as catwalks and stairways take the fight from claustrophobic ground combat to dizzying rooftop battles. "Ghost Town" is a mid-sized map ideal for Team Slayer games and smaller objective types.

Avalanche

Avalanche" is a tribute to "Sidewinder," a Halo®: Combat Evolved fan favorite. This massive, vehicle-oriented objective map adds a twist to its classic predecessor with all new interiors, dramatically reshaped exteriors, and brand new vehicle variants. Take a ride and admire the visual variety from the cockpit of the re-tuned Hornet.

Blackout

As its name suggests, "Blackout" is a remake of the Halo 2 classic "Lockout," a cold series of interconnected platforms and walkways. Where "Avalanche" was re-tuned, reworked and massaged into something both familiar and unfamiliar, "Blackout" is a remake in a pretty strict sense of the word.

Bungie Day

Cold Storage will be available for free beginning on July 7, Bungie Day, on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Cold Storage, is a warmly crafted, dutifully beautified update of Halo: CE classic multiplayer map, Chill Out. It is available on Xbox Live Marketplace for free beginning JULY 7th, 2008.
