Way of the Closed Fist/Way of the Open Palm

In Jade Empire some of the actions you take, and some of the dialogue you speak, bring you closer to one of two opposing in-game philosophies.

Each time you perform one of these actions or dialogues, the game will indicate if you've moved closer to the Way of the Closed Fist (with a red fist on the screen), or toward the Way of the Open Palm (with a blue hand).

Words or actions that are kind, compassionate, or helpful will bring your main character closer to the Way of the Open Palm. The Way of the Closed Fist encourages strength through suffering, and sometimes cruelty. Anything you say or do that exploits the weak or forces people to fend for themselves will lead your character closer to this philosophy.

There are bonuses available to characters that have mastered one way or the other, so choose one path and try to follow it. Followers of different paths will have different outcomes at the end of the game.

Characters

• There are several romance storylines you can follow with your character. Male characters can romance Dawn Star, Silk Fox or Sky. They can also romance both Dawn Star and Silk Fox at the same time. Female characters can romance Sky or Silk Fox. To romance one (or more) of these characters, just choose dialogue options that indicate that your main character likes or is interested in the that character.
