Lift Sidequest (Disc 1)
Talk to Veteran Soldier Rakis in The Great Gate - Inside the Tower and he will ask for your help. The sequence for the lifts is: A, C, B, A, A. After you've brought all the lifts to their respective positions, you can then use each lift to claim your prize at the top: *Platinum Gauntlet*.
A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss (Disc 1 & 4)
In the Crimson forest, when you take the elevator down to the Shrine, head to the right. There is a large boulder sitting on a raised dias. Push the boulder back to the left and put it on the elevator. This triggers the elevator to rise and brings another one back down. Sitting on this elevator is a broken tablet fragment. One of 3 these fragments. It can be returned to a collector in one of the buildings in Numara. The other 2 are in the first area of the Great Ancient Ruins. Once you have all 3, head back into to Numara and talk to the old man by the door in the Art Gallery.
Crystal Fragments (Disc 1)
In Numara, there is an artist who has lost his inspiration. Talk to him and he will ask for 19 crystal fragments from the Crimson forest. If you leave immediately, you can find 6 fragments. The rest of the forest however is blocked off at the moment. After you meet Cooke and Mack and deal with the tragic event, Mack runs off to the Crimson forest opening up the remaining regions. Explore the forest and the shrine to find all 19 fragments. When you do, head back to Numara immediately and give the artist the fragments. You'll get an accessory that teaches HP Max Up 1 as a reward. If you don't head back to Numara before rescuing Mack, you'll end up being prevented from heading back to the artist's home.
Kelelon Respect (Disc 2)
In the village of Tosca after spending the night, there is a girl on the 2nd floor of the inn you can talk to in order to pay respect to the Kelelon statues in the village. Accept and you are given a time limit in which to pay your respect to all 16 statues in the village. The trouble here is that some of the "helpful" villagers will be standing in the way of getting to some of the statues. You must wait for them to move out of your way. Several statues are easy to miss. There are several inside houses. The big one in the middle of town also counts. Just sprint around giving tribute to each statue as you are able. The final statue is up the ladder in the northeast behind the homes. A villager will stand fixing the ladder until hardly any time is left. Getting all 16 statues will get you the spirit magic Gamble. An extremely helpful little spell. There are also a few rewards for finding fewer then 16 statues. If you need to retry, the girl will have moved next to the big Kelelon statue.
Letter to Carlen (Disc 4 Only)
Talk to Reinforcement Yallen at The Great Gate of Uhra and he will ask you to deliver a letter to his father. You can find Startled Carlen at Castle of Uhra - Station Square and once you give him his son's letter, he rewards you with *Freedom Armband* which allows you to learn slot +5.
Search for a Father (Disc 4 Only)
Talk to Father-Searching Lomur in Uhra - Outside of the Front Gate (of the Royal Castle) and he will ask you to help look for his father (duh!). Head into Monorail - The Castle Station and talk to Caring Wolph, show him the poster you received earlier and he'll run off. Don't fret though; if you head back to Lomur he'll reward you with 9x Nightmare Seal(s).
All Lit-Up (Disc 4 Only)
Head over to the Gohtzan Refugee Camp and talk to Ryzel. He will ask you to repair the lights around camp, six total, all around the camp. Once you get them repaired, he'll reward you with *5x Death Powder*.
Pipots, Seeds, and You
Throughout the game, you will find seeds. These seeds can be given to pipots which are rabbit looking creatures that reside inside of pots located in various towns. Why they live in pots is any one's guess. Anyway, the pipots will keep a running total on how many seeds you have given them. You are rewarded at 20, 40, 60, 80, and 99 total seeds. Collecting all 99 seeds can be one of the more frustrating and easily missed tasks in Lost Odyssey.

Screenshots of locations can be found at: http://twobrothersandasister.com/?p=1822
Boss: First King of Uhra
This isn't much of a fight and is more of a survival challenge. The fight is mostly scripted. The King will talk to Tolten and test his strength and worthiness. Survive long enough and the King will teach Tolten 'Ultimate Hit'. The King prompts you to use this new skill. If you do anything other then use Ultimate Hit at this point, the King will kill Tolten and its game over. Using Ultimate Hit will end the fight.
In addition to learning Ultimate Hit, you will receive a sword, Age of Kings, and a ring. Age of Kings is the strongest weapon in the game with an amazing 420 attack power. While only useable by Tolten, this can be worked around by having an immortal learn Tolten's Royal Equipment ability. This allows you to give the sword to either Kaim or Seth.
Backyard (Disc 4)
The backyard is basically a gladiatorial arena that pits you against a variety of encounters. The backyard is located in Gohtza post freezing. A new option is available on the elevator called 'Backyard'.
The backyard has a save point and several NPC's. The one on the right of the cage allows you to fight. The one to the southwest provides you with tips on the secret rules, more on that in a bit. The one on the left of the cage gives you rewards based on your success in the backyard.
There are several classes within the backyard, light, middle, heavy, and super heavy. Initially only light is available. In order to unlock higher classes, you need to bring a Magic Key to the fight organizer. The 3 keys can be found in Gongora's Secret Lab, the Great Ancient Ruins, and the Temple of Enlightenment.
If you manage to finish all 4 classes in the backyard, you can then fight the Champion which is by far the hardest fight in the game.
Each challenge within the Backyard has a set of rules. Some will restrict your party, your spells and/or abilities, or even afflict your entire team with various status effects. In addition to the rules that are visible before the fight, each challenge has a secret rule. These rules can be learned by finding a backyard magazine somewhere in the world and bringing it to the NPC on the southwest of the cage.
Each challenge you attempt will reward you with stars. As you accumulate stars, you can get rewards from the NPC on the left of the cage. For failing a challenge, you get a one star rating. For winning a challenge, you get a two star rating. For winning and meeting the secret rule, you get a three star rating.

Backyard fights secret rules
Light
- See the Combination Attack at least 3 times. Take off counter from any character your using and just defend until you see the move 3 times.
- Defeat all enemies with your characters.
- Let a number of small bugs get absorbed. (around 10?) Just sit back and defend/heal until enough small bugs are absorbed.
- Defeat at least 5 White Dogs. Focus on the dogs and healing until you kill 5. New dogs are summoned each round by the alarm.
- Defeat the Puppet Master quickly. (within 3 turns) Sed helps here a bit since his attacks ignore the GC Wall.
Middle
- Save both Kelolon Papa and Mama. Cast the stronger all-water attack you have. It will heal the two Kelolons.
- Defeat the King Owl first. Hint: Anti-Poison a must-have. Again Sed is helpful since he ignores the GC Wall. Use "Cut Down" to lower GC. Also use Combo or 3 Combo to increase the number of hits you get in since you are blinded(darkness). It is also a good idea to un-equip counter since you might end up killing the other enemies.
- Do not let anyone get defeated.
- Do not use any items or magic. This one may require some leveling up first.
- Let all enemies self-destruct within 2 turns. Hint: Use all-fire to initiate the process.
Heavy
- Make sure the Raptor Boss appears, and kill it. Hint: Keep at least one Raptor alive to summon reinforcements until it appears.
- Front row characters must not be defeated. Hint: Pray hard the frog doesn't squash any frontliners lol. The persistence skill is very helpful here.
- Defeat at least 15 Doll Queens.
- Defeat the Kelolon Brigade Leader first. Widdle down the two Kelolon bodyguards. Once the GC wall is level 2 or lower focus on the brigade leader.
- Do not use any Skills. Hint: Magic is allowed.
Super Heavy
- Do not let anyone be defeated. Hint: Anti-Poison a must. Do all you must to keep the Human alive.
- Defeat the Dog. Hint: Have someone be equipped with your best poison or toxin Ring (and Persistence skill), then get a Perfect. The dog will then die in 4 turns. You will need to kill the soldier after and he will be mad! He does Primus, Fear, Shieldus, Powerda and Speeda. He also attacks for around 4K + on a level 70 Kain. Persistence with absorb magic/physical should keep you alive.
- Have at least 10 favorable Coin Tosses. Hint: All-Flara x2 per turn, then pray. This one is lot of luck. Try all-flare instead to drag the fight out longer if need be to get more favorable tosses.
- Defeat the Silver Kelelon before it runs away. Hint: Gamble away. Don't follow the tipster's recommendation of using Taunt. The Silver Kelelon will counter a taunt by casting Death.
Champion
Defeat the Immortal quickly. Recommended around 15 turns or so. Number of rounds may be higher, 20 or 25?
Boss: The Immortal
HP: 176,000
The Immortal is by far the hardest and most impressive fight in the game. Not only does he have around three times the health of the final boss of Lost Odyssey, he hits a ton harder. Recommended level of 75+ minimum. Defeating the Immortal is challenging enough but doing it quickly to get a three star rating is even worse. Try to earn over 200,000 gold and buy as many Full Heals, Ambrosias, and Goddess Medicines as you can because the battle will take a while, and using items is much faster than using spells.
Fighting The Immortal starts out rather slow and easy, but the closer to defeat the Immortal gets the more destructive it becomes. The Immortal has a few main attacks. A melee hit that will cause 8000+ damage and shadowus which will hit everyone for 2000 or so. Absorb melee and absorb magic along with persistance are a must. Also having weapon guard and lucky magic damage 0 set is highly recommended. HP Max Up your immortals as much as possible.
Initially, you can buff your party, but at some point (half way?) the Immortal will begin countering any buff and removing them immediately. Don't worry about your GC wall, you will not be able to maintain it. Between the melee hit and shadowus, it would be hard enough to keep your wall up. The Immortal also has an ability that drops your GC to zero.
At around the half way point, the Immortal will begin using an ability called 'Cube'. This ability basically drops your hp to near nothing. A character with 9999 hp will end up with under 200. Others will probably be at 1 hp. Thankfully, Cube will not kill you, but the Immortal can at times cube you twice in a row dropping everyone to 1 hp. It's important to heal up asap to avoid massive death from shadowus. Hopefully you have lots of goddess medicine and full heal items. Spell casting is just too slow here. Double item from Sed works wonders.
As you get the Immortal lower in health, it will cast Shadowus more and more often. Sometimes up to 3 times in a row.
Elemental damage is completely ineffective against the Immortal. Early you can use all-powerus and melee. Once the Immortal starts removing your buffs though, you are really left with few options. The best bet throughout is the start chain casting Divide (divide is gained in the Kelelon village sidequest). Double cast is probably best as well since the Immortal counters any aggressive move with shadowus. Setting up Kaim and Seth with cast speed buffs, mental stability 1/2, and MP Max Up abilities is probably the best way to go. Their health should ideally be maxed at 9999. This will allow Kaim and Seth to inflict 9999 with every hit of Divide. Ultimate hit is another option given that the Immortal will already destroy your GC wall, but Divide is a far better choice.
After getting hit hard by cube or anything else, the spell reversa also becomes highly effective. This spell deals damage based on how much hp your character has lost. Throughout the fight, there are obviously times when your health will be extremely low. Timing and alternating reversa and divide can take the immortal down extremely quickly.
Just keep at it and eventually the Immortal will fall.
Getting a 2 star rating nets you a magazine to give the tipster to learn the secret rule for facing the Immortal. Getting a 3 star rating earns you the amazing Quad Elemental Seal which teaches absorb all elements!

Suggested Skills to Equip Fighters(Kaim + Seth)
1. Weapon for Kaim: Dunrandal How to obtain: Get Orichalcum. It is located on Temple of Enlightenment-The Valley of Loneliness near second save point for that stage. Move up with two elevated paths to get Orichalcum. Afterwards, visit Ipsilon Mountains Mining Site. Keep climbing up until you see a old man in upper mining area to exchange your Orichalcum for Durandal and one pretty good ring. Rings are kinda of useless if you keep spamming Combo It's effect only applies to regular attack, special attacks are excluded.
2. Weapon for Seth: Age of the King How to obtain: Complete all Tolten Royal Seals
- must need royal equipment skill to equip it. It does 420 damage, a hell lot better then either Seth or Kaim's Ultimate Weapon

Strategy
This guys is really tough due to it's immense hp, pure magical power and immunity to most magical attacks. With the right strategy, you can beat this boss with no problems.
For your party, you should have all 4 immortals in your party due to their reviving skills and one mortal. All your immortals should at least equip Persistence and Magic Avoid to endure brutal punishment cause by the immortal one. First turn, use one of your mages to cast faster on both Kaim and Seth, so they can use 3 Combo attack in one turn instead of traditional two.
For remainder of the game, keep spamming 3 combo or combo (if they got killed)with your fighters. Use one divide white spell(really slow spell) if your mages at high health or majority of your time you will be using double cast Reversa if your mages at low health.
Cubic Music Scores
These are picked up at various points throughout the game. Take them to the guy with the music cube to play a musical mini game. He can be found in Numara and Uhra. The minigame essentially involves attacking music boxes causing them to play a note. The goal is to attack them in the pattern that matches the score and in effect "play" the song. You can see the score for each song by looking at the score in your treasure items screen as well as before entering "combat" with the song. The score will list letters each represent a note to be played. An 'R' means hit the rest cube.
Looking at the score, count how many letters are listed before a space appears. This will be either four or five. This is the number of party members you'll want in your formation for that song. Place all your characters in the same row as front/back is irrelevent here. Character attack speed is not a factor here. Simply attack notes in the correct order.
The locations where each score can be found is as follows:
- Recieved from "Music Man" in Numara
- Crimson forest
- Numara Palace
- Northern Cape
- Ice Canyon (inside treasure chest only reachable through sliding to hidden path and through small cave - you can see it near to the little moster boss, but can only reach it from next area)
- Burning Cavern
- Terrace Cave (Disc 4)
- Numara Palace (only on disc 4, after defeating a special bad guy)
- Pirate Fortress (Disc 4 - follow the penguin)
Screenshots of each location can be foun at: http://twobrothersandasister.com/?p=1830
The notes to play and rewards ("R" is for the "Rest" cube):
- CEGC = *Force Spell*
- DAAD = *Dodger Spell*
- ERGF + EDCR = *Kelolon Badge*
- GEGBA + GFDCR = *Wind Charm* (You need 5 people in the group)
- DAEF + DRAR + GEDR = *Toughness Brooch*

Lost Pirates (Disc 4 requires the White Boa)
After visiting the pirate stronghold and talking to the remaining pirate, you can find these 6 pirates.
- Old Sorcerer's Mansion (Persona needs to be killed. You need Poem Fragments A-D for it to spawn in the back room), after you have killed Persona when you go out the mansion you will get a cut scene and Sed will see the pirate show up in the window (just like the girl when you first came here). Go back in and go into the left room, you will get the pirate. If you have already defeated Persona you will still see the person in the window, walk in and enter the left room to trigger a cut scene.
- Kelolon Village (enter Village and wait, until an automatic fight starts - rescue the pirate). You can stand and go AFK or run around. You must have Sed in your active party for this fight to occur.
- City of Saman (near the big tree), walk up and you will get a cut scene.
- Sea of Baus (inside a barrel), walk to the edge of the map (directly forward) and turn right, the cut scene will automatically start.
- White Boa - Queen's Chamber, go to elevator, and choose "Guest Rooms", run up to where the Queens Harp is. (Also get the harp from the queen as you use it for the Holy Beast)
- Under the sea on the world map. To the right of Uhra city, in the large bay, a pirate is located just north of where you can land.
Once completed, go to the Pirates Hideout and you'll be told Gar's is making something and to go check. When you zone in you will get a cutscene.
Your reward for finding all 6 is Sed's best gun, the Magic Rifle of Aneira and the Aneira ring.
Attack: 392. Ring: Lv3 HP Absorb, Lv3 MP Absorb, Lv3 Magic Delay. (not the best sadly!)
Return to the Old Sorceress Mansion (Disc 4)
This doesn't require the Boa to get to obviously, but can only be done after you have the Boa. Return to the Old Sorceress Mansion and head down to the room where you found Sarah. A new creature has taken up residence in this room. You need all of the poems A to B for this to spawn. Update: This can be done before getting the White Boa.
Boss: Persona
HP: 12,780
Persona is an interesting fight. She will alternate her weakness between melee and magic. She will absorb damage that isn't dealt by her current weakness. Additionally, like the monsters of the mansion, Persona loves using petrify. Set your party will anti-petrify before the fight. Be mindful of her current weakness and Persona shouldn't be very difficult.
A very simple and effective way to defeat this boss is to use only Seth and Ming. Learn Casting Support 1 or 2 on Ming and Ming will become frontline on all spells, Seth always attacks first (or use Sed). Then you'll know which side it's on, as you can already plan your attack before to does reverse, thus you'll never heal it. A level 50ish Seth and Ming will take this down in around 4-5 turns doing Combo and Windus with ease.
Victory earns you the accessory Sarah's Notebook which teaches absorb fire.
Numara Atoll (Disc 4 requires the White Boa)
Located just north of Numara, the atoll doesn't offer much early in the game aside from a few treasures. However, after you have Ming, heading back to the Atoll grants a tale of the Holy Beast. Ming says she used to call the Holy Beast to the Atoll with music from her harp. This now allows you to head into the White Boa and get Ming's harp from the Queen's Chamber. Return once more to the Atoll with the harp in order to summon the Holy Beast.
Boss: Holy Beast
HP: 14,020
The holy beast can be a very difficult fight. First, the beast has an attack that it will charge up and unleash that will kill your entire party. There is no surviving this attack. The beast will always use the ability after so many rounds of combat. Prior to using this ability the beast will stop acting. This is the warning that you are almost out of time and need to kill the beast asap or face game over.
The beast also uses all-sleep, so make sure you have anti-sleep set on everyone. If your party falls asleep, the holy beast will probably unleash its ultimate attack before you wake up.
The beast uses all-element attacks so absorb magic, lucky magic damage 0, and other anti-magic abilities are helpful. Melee attacks are useless here so you're stuck with using magic for damage. A heavy caster party is best. Continue casting and heal as needed. Gamble or bomb items can also be used. Double item with level 3 bombs does wonders.
Victory earns you one of the best accessories in the game - 1000 years of dreams. This teaches your immortals slot +10!!!
Snowfields of the Northland (Disc 4 requires the White Boa)
Located to the northwest of the world map. Reaching this area requires the White Boa to break through some ice.
This area is a maze. You start at a crossroads with four exits. You can click the right stick to exit the zone. The trick here is very simple.
You must find the source of where the orbs are coming from. So follow the floating orbs in the opposite direction, if they're going UP, you zone DOWN, if they're going LEFT, you zone RIGHT. It should take no more than 10 zones, if it does, go back to world map and start again. Continue through the zones for several screens and you'll end up face to face with the boss of the region.
Boss: Blue Dragon
HP: 9350
This boss isn't very difficult but will absorb black magic attacks. This leaves you with melee and spirit magic. Gamble is ever useful. The dragon should fall in short order. If the dragon casts death, just revive the fallen and continue to fight. As a reward, you will learn the black magic spell 'leveler'.
Kelelon Village (Disc 4 requires the White Boa)
To reach the Village, first use the White Boa to break through the ice in the north leading to the interior lake. The take out the Nautilus and dive. Along the south wall of the lake will be a tunnel leading to a very small lake. Land here to find the Kelelon Village. Here you will find Kelelon society and if you have visited the Pirate Fortress you will get attacked at some point while in the village. One of the pirates is under attack by Kelelon's. Kill the 4 guards and save the pirate.
Within the village is one of the royal seals, a very nice shop, and a unique contest. The shop sells the resurrect magic for 30,000 gold. Additionally, the shop sells the three best items in the game. Goddess medicine which revives a dead party member with full hp. As well as selling hp full and mp full items. The shop also sells some weapons, but they aren't really that great, especially if you've been doing side quests.
The major event here is a Kelelon contest. The challenge is to see who amongst the Kelelon has the strongest white magic. The victor gets to challenge the Kelelon king himself. Of course, Cooke decides to enter as the reward is the strongest white magic around.
The contest however puts Cooke by herself against several rounds of opponents. This may require some leveling up first. 40+ at least is a good estimate.
The first battle is a qualifier round which puts Cooke alone against a mess of Kelelon's. Two will face Cooke and in the background you'll see others fighting. Each kill will cause a new Kelelon to face Cooke and the one's in the background will disappear. Trick here is that its melee only. No casting. The Kelelon's aren't very strong though. The qualifier should be easy.
After the qualifier, the Kelelon tournament will begin. This consists of several matches still using only Cooke. Each fight gets progressively harder. Some opponent's will cast Kelelon on you reducing your damage dealt to 1. Just equip the anti-kelelon accessory and cure it for those fights. Swap your accessory as need be depending on what your current opponent is trying to afflict you with. These fights aren't really difficult. The final round of the tournament pits Cooke against a familiar face.
After winning the tournament, the Kelelon king offers a wager to the final championship bout. You'll now be able to bring in 4 other characters along with Cooke.
Qualifier: Kelolon's
HP: Less than 300 each
Stolen Item(s): ???
Dropped Item(s): ???
Very simple and straight-forward, just keep using normal attacks (as thats all you can do). Also, equipping a good ring here helps (Earth, Kelo or HP rings are a couple good types). Be sure to have lvl'd a bit, though, as you'll need to be able to receive some good punishment later on as well.
First Round: Kelo-Kelolon
HP: 480
Stolen Item(s): Kelo-Vitamin
Dropped Item(s): None
Again, very easy (I had my Cooke at lvl 47 though so it was 1-hit KO). Cast a protection spell or two and then start attacking.
Second Round: Uncle Kelolon
HP: 700
Stolen Item(s): Kelo-Vitamin
Dropped Item(s): Kelo-Vitamin
Same formula as above, cast 1-2 protection spell(s) and attack. When I had him down to 100-200 HP he called out for his wife but I killed him before she showed up. I'm guessing the wife would have been a Kelorina but using the same formula you should be able to take down anyone in this battle.
Third Round: Kelolon Lv. 99
HP: 770
Stolen Item(s): Kelolon's Soul
Dropped Item(s): Kelolon's Soul
You might be worried after seeing this lvl 99 in the round description, but don't worry, once you enter battle you see that the Kelolon is just a self-claimed lvl 99. Use the same formula above and wipe his sorry behind.
Fourth Round: ???
HP: Less than 1100
Stolen Item(s): None
Dropped Item(s): None
I'm not gonna spoil this battle but it sure surprised me. And no, you can't see exactly how much HP the enemy has or which items are steal-able/dropped (if any) by the enemy with any equipment. In the first two turns use Shieldus and Coverus (Or the highest variation you have of either spell) on yourself and then either equip a black magic accessory and start using spells or use normal attacks (Equipping a spirit magic accessory and using Powerus (or Powera) on yourself helps if you choose to duke it out) After the 2nd or 3rd turn you'll get some dialog and the enemy will be afflicted with Terror. Not that hard of a battle if you've lvl'd properly.
Boss: King Kelolon
HP: 11,340
Stolen Item(s): Kelonga Crown
Dropped Item(s): Kelonga Crown
The king really isn't much of an opponent. As a master of white magic, he's mostly going to try and protect himself by casting Coverus. As long as your party is strong enough to continue breaking through Coverus, the King will fall easily. Victory earns you the very powerful spell 'Divide'.
Forgotten Cave (Disc 4 requires the White Boa)
Along the north edge of the world map, there is a small inlet blocked with ice. Break through the ice and take out the Nautilus. Dive to find the hidden cave.
Start by heading east to reveal information on a hidden treasure. The treasure is north in the cave. Walk through the poisonous water to the right to a small landing to find the treasure - 'Angel Guard'. There are a few other treasure chests around with some crafting materials.
On the upper landing in the center of the cave you will face the boss.
Boss: Cave Worm
HP: 10,180
The Cave Worm is rather resistant to melee attacks and also prevents you from using items in the fight. Focus on casting. Gamble as always is helpful. The Worm can also go into a complete defense mode which negates all damage. Take the time to heal or cast cover spells as needed. Finishing the boss rewards you with Aneira plume as well as Gravity Rave and Gravity ring. Gravity Rave is an weapon for Seth with 254 attack power.
Temple of Enlightenment (Disc 4 requires the White Boa)
The Temple is found on the south east island. Break through some ice on the south side of the island and dive the Nautilus through a cave to find the landing to the temple.
The Temple is an excellent location to level up and/or learn skills. The enemies here will max your levels if you desire. Early on you'll gain a level a fight with ease. Using Sed or setting Double xp/sp is highly recommended during your time in the temple. To make surviving easier equip your party with absorb fire and anti-poison, this will ensure you free healing in some fights. If you encounter two kelolons use turn-tail ASAP.
A couple important items can be found here. Namely, a magic key to unlock a tier in the backyard and orichalcum which is used in the weaponsmith side quest.
Entrance
The Temple starts out looking like the Ancient Ruins. Travel around the moving platforms to grab the couple chests to get another slot seed and 6 Jewels of Wisdom. Head into the Temple when your ready.
Square of Eternity
This is where things start getting complicated. For all intensive purposes, the Temple is a maze of tetris type blocks. At certain points, you can move and manipulate groupings of blocks in order to gain access to different sections of the room. The goal is to make your way across this section to the exits on the left and right. The left leads to the Precipe of Hopelessness while the right leads to the Valley of Loneliness. Both of these areas will link up to a following area called the Corridor of Timelessness.
Precipice of Hopelessness
In the lower section of this area, there is a lift you can ride up. Do so. When the lift gets to the top, there should be another lift that you can see to the north of you, but can't reach. The switch to move that lift is just to your left. Use the switch to send the lift up, you'll need up there for later.
Valley of Loneliness
In the lower section of this area, there are 3 lifts that you can't ride but can manipulate. Send all 3 up above you. You'll need them there later.
Corridor of Timelessness
If you thought the Square of Eternity room was complicated, the corridor is really a mess. Shortly after entering the room, you can flip a set of blocks to access a save point. Now the goal here is just like the square, you need to move blocks and ride lifts to get up above to an exit on the left and again to an exit on the right. These exits take you back to the Precipe of Hopelessness and Valley of Loneliness but to an area above the sections you previously visited. Back in the Precipice, cross the one lift you sent up and go down the ladder. Here you'll be able to grab the Emerald of Despair. Back in the Valley, run across the 3 lifts you sent up to find the Jasper of Loneliness. Take the two gems into the Corridor and make your way all the way up to the top of the room. Along the north wall, you'll find an alter. Placing the two gems on the alter will lower a lift that will take you up to face the boss.
The following links are to a nice series of videos from SplitInfinity showing the way to get through the Temple and collect all the goodies. Random battles were removed from the vids as well making them extra nice. Amazing work and many thanks to SplitInfinity for putting those vids up on youtube.
Boss: Ancient Sorcerer Fu
HP: 22,041
Summon Spirit: 16,000
Ally: 22,041
Ally: 22,041
At the start of the fight, Fu will summon a spirit. It resembles the creature that you had to rescue Mack from in the Crimson Forest. Your first task is to defeat the summoned spirit as you cannot attack Fu until it is defeated. This should not be much of an issue, since by this point you should be decently leveled up from progressing through the Temple. If Kaim and/or Seth has maxed hp, a pair of hits from divide will drop the spirit.
After the spirit is defeated, Fu will summon forth two allies. The easiest way to go at this fight is to focus on Fu. This can be done in a few ways. First, you could just chain cast gamble and hope for some good hits. Using Sed is another option, since his base attack ignores the Wall. Last but not least, you could first attack the allies a bit to drop down the Wall a few levels before unloading on Fu. Regardless of the method, once Fu is down you'll have the two allies left to kill. They aren't particularly strong and should die quickly.
There is a quick way but risky way to to kill the allies fast:
- Make sure you have the "death" spell (4 turns) so you can kill the allies of Fu in 1 hit.
- It would help if you have the character who's going to cast death have skill linked lvl 46 Cooke to reduce casting time to two turns rather than four.
The risky part is that this tactic takes a while before "death" is casted, so be sure to heal everybody every turn.
Defeating Ancient Fu rewards you with the spirit magic Sacrifice Self.
Weaponsmith (Disc 4)
This sidequest involves a weaponsmith in the Ipsilon Mountains at the top of the mine section. He'll mention that he would craft a weapon if only he could find some quality ore to work with. Unfortunately, the Ipsilon Mountains have been purged of any quality ore. The solution is found within the Temple of Enlightenment. In the Temple you can find a single Orichalcum. This is the treasure the smith requires to forge a weapon. Bringing the Orichalcum to the smith will leave you with an option. You can forge a weapon for either Kaim or Seth.
The weapon forged is the 2nd strongest in the game. The 1st being the Age of Kings (see the Royal Seal sidequest section). Kaim sword is called Durandal while Seth's is called White Ignis. Both swords have the same attack power bonus of 277.
