Classes

Racers in Mario Kart Wii are divided into three separate weight classes: lightweight, medium-weight, and heavyweight. Characters within the same weight class control identically to each other, meaning that the only difference between, for example, Baby Mario and Toad is their design. What distinguishes each character is the vehicle he or she chooses.
