Super Robot Wars Alpha 3: To the End of the Galaxy (第3次スーパーロボット大戦α 終焉の銀河へ) for Playstation 2 is the last game in the Alpha series of the Super Robot Wars franchise. It has one of the largest casts in all of the SRW games. Gundam SEED, GaoGaiGar Final, Virtual On: Marz, and Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram all make their SRW premier in Alpha 3. Super Robot Wars Alpha 3 is a Strategy RPG developed by Branpresto. Only released in Japan due to licensing issues with the large amount of anime series that are including in the game. This game also marks the first time that mecha from a different game franchise not owned by Banpresto or Bandai appear in SRW.

At the beginning of the game, players can chose between 4 original characters: Touma, Kusuha, Cobray, or Selena. Each character has their own unique story, robot, and personality. Depending on which character is chosen, it determines in what order the licensed series will appear. There are 2 Super Robot type characters and 2 Real Robot type characters.

The Super Robot Types

Touma Kanou: A traditional Super Robot pilot, hotblooded, loud, and dynamic. Touma pilots the robot RaiOh. If you chose Touma, GaoGaiGar characters will appear first.

Kusuha Mizuha: A character often considered to be the true Alpha series main character, she is the only character that has been a main character in all of the Alpha games. Bullet, a main character from Alpha 2 is included in Kusuha's route. Mazinkaiser and Shin Getter Robo make early appearances if you chose Kusuha.
