Dragonite

After defeating the Elite Four and obtaining the National Pokédex, take a boat from Snowpoint City to the Fight Area. Walk up slightly in the direction of the Survival Area and you will see a fisherman who will give you the Super Rod. Use your Super Rod behind the waterfall in Mt Coronet (fourth floor) to catch a Dratini. At level 30, Dratini evolves into Dragonair; at level 55 it becomes Dragonite, a feared pokémon from the original games.

Drifloon

Drifloon appears outside the Valley Windworks only on a Friday. If the date on your DS system is set to Friday, Drifloon can be approached for battle. As a Ghost/Flying type pokémon, it is immune to Normal, Fight and Ground attacks.

Garchomp

Travel North of Oreburgh City and use HM cut on the small tree to reach the area under the bike path. At the far end you'll see the entrance to Wayward Cave, but there is in fact another secret entrance to its left that can't be seen. Push up into the wall until you find it. Inside, you will encounter Gible - it is uncommon but it shouldn't take too long to appear. At level 24, Gible evolves into Gabite; at level 48 it evolves into Garchomp, one of the most powerful pokémon in the game.

Lucario

Take a boat from Canalave City to Iron Island. Make sure you have a free slot in your team to receive the pokémon. There is a small dungeon to conquer with assistance from a trainer called Riley. When you are done, Riley offers you an egg that contains the pokémon Riolu. After traveling the required number of steps with the egg in your party, it will hatch. When Riolu's happiness reaches a certain level through continued use, it will evolve into Lucario, one of the most famous pokémon in the game and also one of the most powerful. It will only evolve during the day, however.

Munchlax

Visit the flower field above Floaroma Town to purchase honey from the man standing there. Talk to him repeatedly to obtain lots of honey since it's likely you'll be needing it. Further right you will see a yellow tree that can be slathered with honey. There are many of these trees all over Sinnoh. Return to any tree that you have slathered with honey approximately 5-10 hours later and you will see it rustling. Examine it to encounter a wild pokémon of which Munchlax is one remote possibility. Alternatively, make a Snorlax hold the Full Incense item then breed it at the Solaceon Town daycare to receive a Munchlax egg.

Salamence

Pearl version only. After defeating the Elite Four and obtaining the National Pokédex, travel to the North part of route 210 and use your pokéradar in the grass. Persist until you are able to catch a Bagon. At level 30, Bagon evolves into Shelgon; at level 50 it becomes Salamence, a powerful dragon.

Spiritomb

Triggering the encounter with Spiritomb requires at least two Nintendo DS systems and copies of the game. Use your explorer kit to enter the Sinnoh underground and have a friend do the same. You must greet 32 players here, but it is possible to greet the same player 32 times. Repeatedly exit and re-enter the underground or close your secret base for decorating, then return to greet the other player. Your trainer card keeps track of the number of players met. When this is done, you must acquire an Odd Keystone. The easiest way to obtain one is by flying to Twinleaf Town, then surfing to the left side of the small pond. An Odd Keystone is hidden up against the trees. Now fly to Solaceon Town and head as far down the screen as you can go. On the right you will see the Hallowed Tower, a small tower with a hole where the Odd Keystone can be fitted. Examine it to trigger the encounter with Spiritomb. It is a Ghost/Dark type pokémon and appears at level 25.

Tyranitar

Diamond version only. After defeating the Elite Four and obtaining the National Pokédex, travel to route 207 and use your pokéradar in the grass. Persist until you are able to catch a Larvitar. At level 30, Larvitar evolves into Pupitar; at level 55 it becomes Tyranitar, the fearsome Rock/Dark attacker.
