Sonic and the Secret Rings is part racing, part platformer, and part RPG. You steer Sonic along a track, making turns and avoiding obstacles, like a racing game. You'll also need to jump over obstacles and gaps, and attack enemies as you move through the levels, like a platformer. Like an RPG, Sonic will acquire experience for his actions (attacking enemies, finishing levels, collecting items), increasing his level and gaining new skills.
During development this game was known as Sonic Wild Fire.
