About
Born to a simple farming family in Japan, Mitsurugi took to practicing with the sword at a very young age. His family soon died of disease and he set off to start a new life as a warrior. He took his crude fighting skills onto the fields of battle. While it wasn't pretty, Mitsurugi fought and killed many. He learned from every battle. When one would end, he would search out another. His name began to spread and he became a mercenary for hire. Mitsurugi fought and fought and fought and never lost. His skills surpassed everyone's.
Soon, rumors of a new weapon began to reach Japan. A weapon called the rifle. Mitsurugi worried that this rifle would change the face of war and put him out of a job. He began to search for the legendary sword known as the Soul Edge. He journeyed far but could not find any trace of the cursed blade he believed could rival the rifle. Mitsurugi eventually returned home where he challenged a rifleman to a dual. Mitsurugi lost his first duel and was shamed by the defeat. He soon set off to hone his skills as a swordsman in hopes of defeating the rifle in battle.
Mitsurugi traveled to Europe where there was rumored to be a creature named Nightmare that wielded an unstoppable sword. The creature disappeared but Mitsurugi kept searching. His skills improved as he travel and bested swordsmen and riflemen alike. He eventually came across a ravaged castle and a drying old man. The man gave Mitsurugi a shard of metal and told him it was a fragment of the Soul Edge. Mitsurugi didn't believe the old man but kept the shard anyway and forgot about it as he traveled in hopes of finding a worthy opponent.
Some time later Mitsurugi was attacked by a group of ninjas. He quickly defeated them and learned that they were after his piece of the Soul Edge. He looked at what he thought was a useless piece of metal a dying man had given him. Suddenly, the shard began to glow and it leaped into the air and flew to the west. As the shard disappeared from his sight, he saw a vision of Nightmare holding the mighty Soul Edge in his hands. Mitsurugi set off to the west in hopes of battling a worthy challenging opponent.
Tactics
Mitsurugi can hold is own at long range but really he's best used at mid to close range combat. He's great for beginning players. Although he's slow at changing stances which leaves him open to attacks, he has a great number of close range attacks.
