Falling in with the wrong crowd at a young age, Siegfried was forced to learn the art of the sword quickly on the battlefield. He became the leader of the small band of villains and murders. They spent most of their time pillaging and slaughtering villages. One fateful night, he and his men stormed a ship. He beheaded the captain of the ship in a furry of bloodlust. Siegfried then pick up the severed head and was about to raise it over his own in triumph when he saw that he held his own father's head in his hand.
Siegfried disappeared into the nearby woods. He went insane with rage and guilt and convinced himself that someone else killed his father. He heard rumors of a sword with unrivaled powers called the Soul Edge. Siegfried was convinced that with this sword he could slay his father's killer. He eventually found the Soul Edge and took it from Cervantes. When he touched the hilt of the Soul Edge, Evil Seed bursted from his body and rained down across the planet.
The unstable mind of Siegfried was easily corrupted by the Soul Edge. It needed souls and he was happy to oblige. Siegfried slaughtered many until he was transformed into Nightmare. As this alter-ego, he caused much death and destruction to the world. For years Nightmare was able to ravage the world as Siegfried was suppressed deep into sub-conscience unable to awake. Finally, during a battle with Raphael, Nightmare was weakened. Siegfried seized the moment and fought Nightmare for freedom of his soul. There and then he was finally able to split apart from Nightmare.
Realizing all the chaos he had inflicted as Nightmare, Siegfried exiled himself. He eventually came to the conclusion that he needed to atone for his sins. As rumors rise about the resurrection of the Soul Edge and Nightmare, Siegfried sets out on a path of forgiveness and vengeance for the lives he himself helped ruin.
Tactics
- As a great heavy damage dealing character, it's hard to use Siegfried because he is slow compared to others. So to give you a big striking chance, be more defensive, and Guard Impact more often to stun the enemy and get a chance to destroy the opponent.
