  • Most treasure is randomly determined in the game. Each time you enter a new area, the game places random items inside all containers and determines what loot opponents have. Only a few important items are always found in the same place.
  • The storyline is a continuation of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Your main character, called "The Exile" by other characters in this game, is Revan from the old game. During some dialogue, you'll be asked about Revan's gender and color of lightsaber. These responses effect what is shown is the cut scenes, but does not effect gameplay or the game storyline.
  • Your choice of creating a male or female character determines who will eventually join your party. If you make a male character, the Last Handmaiden will join your party. If you create a female character, the Disciple will join you.
  • Light side/Dark side points: you don't get darkside points for breaking into apartments, or helping yourself to the contents of containers. You will get darkside get points for threatening people, or asking for rewards. You'll get lightside points for helping people, turning down rewards, and generally being nice.
  • There are several places in the game where you can do things that halt the storyline of the game. These are noted in the walkthrough. If you perform one of these actions, your only option is to go back to one of your saved games.
  • The game has a long list of bugs. Game freezes and crashes are not uncommon. Be sure to save often.
  • There are some story elements that were never completed, and not included in the game. The game does still have some references to these areas, so don't expect to find everything that is set up in the game.
  • Constructing your lightsaber: Although you start the game as a Jedi, you don't start off with a lightsaber. To get one, you'll need to find three parts and a crystal. The first one you'll get on Telos and the second will be given to you by Visas. The third part you can get by completing a quest on any of the planets you visit. On each planet there is at least one quest that gives you a lightsaber part. If you already have a lightsaber then the quest will give you a lightsaber for one of the other Jedi in your party. The crystals can be bought from vendors or found in a cave in Dantooine.
  • Like most RPGs, you gain experience for defeating enemies and completing missions. You can then use these points to gain levels, which in turn increase your attributes and skills. The difference between this game and most others is the enemies you face scale up or down to your level. This means that a boss you encounter at level 50 is far more powerful than if you fought him at level 20. For the player, this means the boss's level of difficulty doesn't change throughout the game.
