World 1-1
Character of Choice: Princess Peach
Shortcut
Halfway through the level you will find yourself in a cave. Climb up the ladder next to the waterfall to reach the top of the cave. Instead of exiting to the right, jump over the waterfall to the left. You'll probably need to Super Jump up to the platform with the Pink Shyguy on it. Toss him off the ledge. Now you'll see a door to the left but some rocks block it. Pull up the weeds from your platform, which are all Bombs. You need to time your throw just right so that the Bomb goes off when it is passing the rocks.
Once you have destroyed the wall, go through the door that leads you to Birdo, well, sort of. You're on the opposite side of Birdo. Super Jump to the left and off screen. Run along the top of the structure, off screen, to the left where you'll find the Hawk-mouth and Birdo.
Boss: Pink Birdo
Pink Birdo is pretty easy. She will spit eggs at you. The only way to damage Birdo is by jumping on these eggs and throwing them back at her.

Character of Choice: Mario
Boss: Mouser
Mouser will stand on the higher platform and hurls bombs at you. You need to throw these back at him. You can pick them up off the ground but it is a bit easier to simply snatch them from midair as he throws them and toss them back at him. He does move around quite a bit so you may miss him with an explosion but just keep at it and don't let the bombs stack up on the ground around you. Three hits for the bombs and Mouser is defeated!
Warp Jar
Once you pass the second waterfall using the rolling logs, you'll find two green platforms with a log set across them. Below the log, on the ground, pick up the leftmost weed to reveal a Magic Potion. Instead of dropping it right here, carry the Magic Potion to the far right. Past the door you will see a single jar. Drop the potion near the jar to create a door and enter it. Now, in Subspace, enter the jar to Warp to World 4.
World 2-1
Character of Choice: Toad
Boss: Pink Birdo
Pink Birdo is pretty easy. She will spit eggs at you. The only way to damage Birdo is by jumping on these eggs and throwing them back at her.

Red Birdo not only spits out eggs but she also spits fireballs. She will spit three things at you in a row. This can be any combination of those two projectiles. Be careful not to jump on a fireball when expecting an egg. You can also use the Mushroom Blocks to hit her with. Either way, three hits and Red Birdo is toast.
World 2-3
Character of Choice: Toad
Boss: Triclyde
You now face a three-headed snake that is perched on the ledge to the right and spits a barrage of fireballs at you. There is two ways to avoid this attack, build a wall using the Mushroom Blocks or simply duck along the lower right ledge. Either way, in between he's fireball attacks, you need to pick up and hurl the Mushroom Blocks at him. Three hits and Triclyde is out.
World 3-1
Character of Choice: Princess Peach
Shortcut
This can only be done with Princess Peach. Climb the vine to the clouds and head left. You need to make it across this big gap by using her floating jump. At the end you'll find a door that leads to the Birdo section. Jump over the wall and defeat Birdo.
Boss: Red Birdo

Be careful not to jump on a fireball when expecting an egg. You can also use the Mushroom Blocks to hit her with. Either way, three hits and Red Birdo is toast.
Warp Jar
At the start of the level you will enter a door that leads you to the base of a waterfall. Now, hop off the ledge and fall down the waterfall. Try to stay in the center of the screen so you will land on a platform with a door. Enter the door. Inside the cave you will find a row of weeds. Start pulling them up to find a Magic Potion. Bring it to the left to the jar. Drop it to create a door and enter it into Subspace. While in Subspace enter the jar to Warp to World 5.
World 3-2

World 3-3
Character of Choice: Luigi
Boss: Mouser
Mouser is back with a few additions. First, his platform is higher. Luigi can continue to simply jump up and toss Mushroom Blocks at Mouser but the other characters will have to use the opposite ledge to reach his platform to hit him. Second, there is a Spark rotating around the room. Keep an eye on it. Lastly, Mouser now takes five bombs to be defeated.
World 4-1

Warp Jar
Reach the section with the whales and make your way to the right. You'll come across three rock platforms in a staircase-like formation. On the third platform is a single weed. Pull it out of the ground to reveal a Magic Potion. Very carefully, carry the Magic Potion to the right. In between two whales you will eventually find a small rock platform with a jar on it. Drop the Magic Potion next to the jar and enter the newly created door. In Subspace, enter the jar to Warp to World 6.
World 4-3
Character of Choice: Princess Peach
Shortcut
You'll need Princess Peach for this one. Walk past the castle's entrance door. Jump from the edge of the platform and float across the gap. You will reach another platform. Ignore the first door you find and keep going to find another door. Enter the door to skip most of the castle.
Boss: Fryguy
Fireguy will fly in a figure-eight pattern and shoot fireballs at you. Use the Mushroom Blocks to hit him, try simply dropping them off the central platform as he swoops underneath. After three hits, he will split up into four fireballs. You now have to hit each of the fireballs once. As you dwindle their numbers down though they will get progressively faster. Needless to say this is one of the tougher boss fights. Good luck.

Boss: Clawgrip
Clawgrip will keep to his platform on the right. You need to stand on the L-Shaped platform on the left. Clawgrip will throw rocks at you in two ways. He'll either hurl them directly at you and they will bounce off the wall and roll into the pit or he'll chuck them into the air above you and they'll fall behind you. Don't worry too much about these one. You need to jump on the ones he throws at you. Hold it for a second, after he throws the next rock; jump over it and onto his platform. Then throw your rock in his face. You need to hit Clawgrip five times to defeat him.
Warp Jar
Luigi is the best equipped to reach this Warp Jar. Climb the ladder and exit the cave. You will now see a platform above you with a jar on it. Perform a Super Jump to reach the platform above. Pull out the weed to find a Magic Potion. Drop it near the jar and enter Subspace through the door. In Subspace, hop into the jar to Warp to World 7.

Green Birdo only fires fireballs. She'll shoot three in a row then pause. There will always be something on the battlefield that can be used to hit her with. Wait for the pause then hurl the object at her. Three hits and she's out.

Character of Choice: Mario
Shortcut
Once you reach the desert by climbing the ladder, head to the left. There you will see a wall with a pit of quicksand next to it. Jump into the quicksand right next to the brick wall. Hold Left as you sink. As soon as you move under the wall begin repeatedly hitting the Jump button. This will keep you from dying by sinking in to deep. You'll make you way under the wall via the quicksand. On the other side you will find a door. Enter it and make your way across the cloud platforms until you reach the pyramid. This door will lead you to the end of the level.

Shortcut
This may actually be easier with Luigi. Climb the ladder then jump to the pillar on the right. You will need to Super Jump onto the back of the Albatoss that is heading to the left. Ride the Albatoss to the left and avoid the pillars. At far left you will find the Rocket ship.
Boss: Green Birdo
Green Birdo only fires fireballs. She'll shoot three in a row then pause. There will always be something on the battlefield that can be used to hit her with. Wait for the pause then hurl the object at her. Three hits and she's out.
World 7-2

Boss: Hawkmouth
After defeating the Red Birdo you will pick up the Crystal Ball like always but the Hawkmouth will detach from the wall and attack you. Back to the left you will find a couple of Mushroom Blocks. Hit the Hawkmouth with these three times and it will open its mouth. Quickly hop inside because if you don't you will have to hit it three more times.
Boss: Wart
Wart is the final boss of the game. It takes seven hits to defeat him. He will stand on the platform to the right where he'll spit bubbles at you. These will arc and float downwards. Do your best to avoid these. The crazy machine down below will spit out vegetables. You need to catch these in midair before they fall off screen. Now, Wart's bubbles will destroy the vegetables and you can only hurt him by throwing these veggies into his mouth. It takes some careful timing and probably a few tries to get the exact timing down. After seven hits, Wart is defeated and you have beaten Super Mario Bros. 2! Congratulations!
