Overview
R.O.B. (aka the Robotic Operating Buddy) is a medium-heavy character with strong attacks and good recovery moves. His rockets give him a limited flight ability.
R.O.B.'s attacks are well balanced between long and short range. His standard attack (a laser) gives him good long range firepower, his other B attacks are good at medium range, and his smash attacks do well at short range. Some characters always seem to be chasing after their opponents to get in range, while others always seem to be backing up. R.O.B. has the ability to attack characters at whatever range they happen to be.

- Large character, so easier to hit
- Robo Beam must be recharged
- Gyro Top is not that powerful

Move List
NOTE: All moves are written as if character is facing right; swap Left/Right directions if facing left. The name of the move is followed by the average maximum percentage of damage that move can inflict per strike. This percentage can change with varying proximity to an opponent, and lowers with each consecutive use of the same move.
A Attacks
- The standard "A" attack is very effective. It does 3% damage, with a fair stun.
- Down + A: 2% per hit. You can hold the button down for multiple hits
- A + up: arm twirl, 2% per hit
- a multi-hit attack to anyone above you
- This move can be used to juggle other characters. Hit them and they'll fly up, then come back down where you can hit them again.
- A + up while in the air: 360 degree rocket kick, 10% damage
Grabs
Grab your opponent using the Z button, then press a direction on the left analog stick to perform the following moves:
- Up grab: Piledriver (11% damage)
- Down grab: Jackhammer (10% damage)
- Side grab: throw (11% damaage)
Special Moves
These are performed with the B button.
- Standard Special Move (B button attack): Robo Beam (9%)
- The lasers have a long range and go good damage, but have a half second delay. If you don't use this for a bit, it will become the Super Robo Beam and inflict more damage.
- Side Special Move (B+right or left): Arm Rotor (2% per hit)
- This is a multiple hit attack
- Great for taking out multiple enemies
- Up Special Move (B+Up): Robo Burner (no damage)
- This works well as a recovery move
- Down Special Move (B+down): Gyro
- Press B+down to summon a top, then b again to throw it. (13% damage)
Smash Moves
Smash moves are performed with the right analog stick, or by pressing A and using the left stick.
- Side Smash: Short range lasers
- Up Smash: Rocket thrust kick
- Good as a defensive move against someone above you
- This attack must be used at very close range
- Down Smash: Rocket thrust kick (down)
- Another short range kick, good timing is necessary to hit your opponent.
- This move also propels ROB up a bit. Although it doesn't work as well as a regular jump, it does have the advantage of being usable after ROB's recovery Up Special Move. If you've already used the Up Special Move, a Down Smash can give you the jump you need to make it to the ledge.
- Final Smash: Diffusion Beam - A medium range cone of lasers over a period of five seconds. You don't have to aim, but make sure your opponent is in range. This attack can do over 150% damage if you can keep your opponent in range the whole time. Most useful when truly in a dire situation of being cornered.
Other Moves
- B + down + B: ricochet the laser beam eye shot off the ground
