From the world of Kirby. You'll start out in front of the ship, but eventually move to the deck. Watch out for the double-barreled battery in the background; it can fire beams and lasers at you, as well as swipe at you with its arm!

Big Blue

  • Unlock this stage by playing ten brawls as Captain Falcon.

Bridge of Eldin

From The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (WII). Occasionally King Bulblin will ride across this long flat stage and destroy the center section of the bridge, but eventually a portal will appear overhead to fill in the gap.

From Metroid (NES), this is a recreation of the stage in Melee. The level of the acid in this stage will rise and fall, so make sure you've always got the high ground.

From Fire Emblem (GBA), castle seige starts off on top of a castle. After about 45 seconds, the player fall into a cathedral, and then after 45 seconds more, into a lava pit below. After a final 45 seconds, the player fall back to the top of the castle, physics be damned.

From the Star Fox games, this is a recreation of the same stage in Melee. Beware the Arwings that sometimes drop in from above, because they'll open fire on you!

Distant Planet

From Pikmin on the GameCube. This stage has a number of unique facets to it. You can bounce off the vines in the middle of the stage like a trampoline, or throw the Pellets that fall off the Pellet Posies into the Onions for items. Stay off the hill on the left when it rains, because it gets very slick, and watch out for the large Pikmin-munching creatures that pop in from time to time, or you'll end up getting munched yourself!

Another Smash Bros. staple, the Final Destination stage is just one flat, open platform with an ever-changing background, perfect for brawls where terrain isn't a hindrance.

From Metroid Prime (GC). The lights will occasionally go out in this stage, and it will also periodically invert. When the siren goes off, jump (or prevent your opponent from doing so)!

  • To unlock this stage, you must play as Kirby in ten brawls.

From the original Sonic the Hedgehog. Be careful when fighting at the bottom of the bowl-shaped dip in the center of the stage; if it sustains too many hits from attacks, various chunks will drop off into oblivion (but will eventually be replaced).

  • To unlock this stage, you must unlock Sonic (see the Unlocks section).

  • To unlock this stage, you must play as Luigi in three brawls.

From the world of Star Fox. If you are playing as either Flace orFox, you can press your down taunt several times rapidly to hear a conversation between them and Team Star Fox

This stage is modeled on the original Mario Bros. game for the NES. There are Shellcreeper and Sidestepper enemies here that you can knock over (either by attacking them or hitting the ground they're walking on from below) and throw at opponents.

  • To unlock this stage, complete Event 19.

From the Mario Kart games. Make sure to stay out of the way of the karts racing around the track, or you'll take some serious damage!

From the original Super Mario Bros. on the NES. This is a scrolling stage meant to replicate World 1-1 from the first Super Mario Bros. game. Sometimes when you select this stage, an alternate underground stage resembling World 1-2 will appear.

From the Japanese-only released Mother 3. Beware the bright pink Ultimate Chimera that sometimes shows up, because if it bites you you'll be launched off the screen!

From Metroid (NES). Beware the lava in this level, as it can come from anywhere. When you see the giant lava wave coming toward you from the background, quickly get into the capsule that appears before someone else does!

From Earthbound, this is a recreation of the stage in Melee. Watch out for the cars driving around at the bottom of the stage or you'll take a whallop.

From the PictoChat function of the Nintendo DS. As you brawl in this stage, various backgrounds will be drawn in that affect the battle, such as winds that blow you toward the edge of the screen, fires that burn you, etc.

  • To unlock this stage you must play ten brawls on the Pokémon Stadium 2 stage.

From Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64, this is a recreation of the same stage in Melee. This level is constantly scrolling in one direction or another, so you'll need to keep moving to prevent yourself from being pushed off the screen.

From Metal Gear Solid. There are walls on the left and right edges of the battlefield that you'll have to destroy before smashing anyone offscreen in any direction but straight up. Occasionally one of three types of Metal Gear will break through the back wall and attack you, so beware. Also, Snake will periodically receive radio transmission updates about his opponents from his Metal Gear cohorts; these are quite funny and worth watching!

From the various WarioWare games. This stage will shift to various screens from the WarioWare games on the fly, so be prepared for several changes in scenery. Additionally, you will be rewarded for actually completing the minigames being showcased!
