Overview/Strategies

Mario's brother Luigi is a medium/light-weight character with a very high vertical jump that puts everyone else's jump to shame. That's a good thing, because his attacks aren't very powerful, so you'll need to be jumping in and out of skirmishes where others can't follow. Luigi also possesses the unfortunate quirk of sliding whenever he runs, as if he's constantly running on ice, meaning that you can forget about stopping on a dime. His sole projectile attack is the green Fireball, but he can also launch himself left or right via the Green Missile move (this move can also be charged, making the distance crossed and damage upon impact that much greater). A word of caution when using his Up + B recovery move: if it doesn't connect with an opponent on the way up, Luigi will spin upside-down and plummet to the ground, completely open to attack.
