This quest chain starts with the unsent letter which drops off of Edwin VanCleef, the final boss in The Deadmines.

The Unsent Letter

The Stockade Riots

• Questgiver: Warden Thelwater, outside the stockade in Stormwind.
• Reward: 25 silver

The Curious Visitor

• Questgiver: Warden Thelwater, outside the stockade in Stormwind
• Objective: Speak to Baros Alexston, in Cathedral Square in Stormwind
• XP: 600
• +25 rep with Stormwind

Shadow of the Past

• Objective: Speak with Master Mathias Shaw in SI:7, located on the south side of the old town quarter of Stormwind.
• XP: 600
• Rep: +25 with Stormwind

Look to an Old Friend

• Objective: Speak with Elling Trias, in the cheese shop in the Trade District of Stormwind.
• XP: 250

Infiltrating the Castle

• Objective: Speak with Tyrion, in the garden of Stormwind Keep, in Stormwind
• XP: 250

Items of Some Consequence

• Objective: Bring 3 silk cloth and 2 of Clara's fresh apples to Tyrion in Stormwind.
• XP: 625
• Rep: +25 with Stormwind

The silk can be bought from other players or the auction house if you don't already have some. The apples are found in a house in Elwynn Forest just outside the front gate of Stormwind.

The Attack

• Questgiver: Tyrion, in Stormwind Keep, Stormwind
• XP: 1900
• Objective: Remain in the garden until Lord Gregor Lescovar and Marzon the Silent Blade have had their conversation. Afterwards, kill them both before returning to Elling Trias in Stormwind.

Once you accept the quest, you must wait in the garden for a few minutes for Lord Gregor Lescovar to enter. Once he's had his conversation, you have only a few seconds to attack both he and Marzon before they walk away. You must attack both, or the other will leave. If one of them gets away you must abandon the quest then wait for all the characters to reset before you can begin it again.

The Head of the Beast

• Questgiver: Elling Traias in the Stormwind cheese shop.
• Objective: Speak to Mathias Shaw in SI: 7, in the old town of Stomwind

• Objective: Speak with Baros Alexton in the Cathedral Square, Stormwind
