The city of Dalaran is a neutral capital located on the continent of Northrend. It is part of the not yet released Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

Like the capital of the previous expansion area, Shattrath City, there will be no auction houses or class trainers. Players will have to travel to other capitals to procure these services.

Dalaran is expected to have areas for both Alliance and Horde factions, as well as common, neutral areas. Unlike Shattrath, it will not have competing city factions.

Because it is a floating city, characters cannot travel there on foot or mount to Dalaran. Once they reach level 74 characters can speak to questgivers in Valiance Keep (in Borean Tundra) or New Agamand (in Howling Fjord) who will teleport them to Dalaran. Of course, they can also be summoned there by a Warlock or use a Mage's portal to get there. Mages can also learn to teleport to the city from trainers in The Dragonblight.

Before the expansion, Dalaran was located inside an inaccessable purple bubble in the Alterac Mountains.
