Extinguish the Firegut

  • Region: Burning Steppes
  • Questgiver: Oralius in Morgan's Vigil
  • Faction: Alliance
  • Objective: Slay 15 Firegut Ogre-Mages, 7 Firegut Ogres, and 7 Firegut Ogre Brutes, and return to Oralius when you are finished.
  • XP: 7350
  • Rep: +250 with Ironforge


Gor'tesh the Brute Lord

  • Objective: Find Gor'tesh, somewhere to the west of Dreadmaul Rock. Kill Gor'tesh and then take Gor'tesh's Lopped Off Head back to Oralius in Burning Steppes.
  • XP: 7600
  • Rep: +250 with Ironforge

Gor'tesh is a level 54 non-elite who stands outside the westernmost building in the Pillar of Ash (38, 56). He is standing around several level 56 Blackrock Soldiers.

  • Objectives: Take Gor'hesh's Lopped Off Head and place it at the top of Dreadmaul Rock. Look for a soft dirt mound to plant the pike.
  • XP: 7600
  • Rep: +250 with Ironforge
  • Rewards: 2 gold 40 silver and choice of:
    • Maddening Gauntlets (hands, mail, green, 180 armor, +15 strength, +5 agility)
    • Choking Band (finger, green, +13 spirit)

The dirt mound is at the top of Dreadmaul Rock (81, 46). It is possible to walk up the south side of the mountain and avoid most of the mobs. When you plant the pike, the orges in the area will run away for a brief time, allowing you to leave without fighting.
