The Hellfire Peninsula is home to the Dark Portal, and is most players first area in the Outlands. Although very popular, the area is also very large, with a wide variety of (very profitable) quests.

Transportation

The area has several flightmasters. Horde flightpoints are Thrallmar, Falcon Watch, or Spinebreaker Post. The Alliance can fly from or to Honor Hold, the Temple of Telhamat, or Shatter Point.

The Dark Portal has both Horde and Alliance flightmasters, flights to Honor Hold or Thrallmar are free.

The Dark Portal transports characters between the Hellfire Peninsula and the Blasted Lands.

The main east/west road connects to Zangarmarsh to the east. The mountain pass that connects the two areas is filled with level 63 ravagers. Players who want to use this path must either fight them, or have a mount fast enough to outrun them.

Falcon Watch

Honor Hold

There is also a mine beneath Honor Hold.

Temple of Telhamat

This is an Alliance settlement on the northwest side of the Hellfire Peninsula. It has the usual questgivers, fightmaster, inn, and vendors.

Thrallmar

Thrallmar is the main Horde town in the Hellfire Peninsula.

Areas of the Hellfire Peninsula

Dark Portal

The Dark Portal is on the far eastern side of the peninsula. Walking through the portal will take players to The Blasted Lands. The rest of this area is filled with elite members of the legion in constant combat with Alliance and Horde NPCs. There are two flight masters here (one horde and one alliance) who will transport characters deeper into the peninsula.
