Mining

Mining provides the ability to locate, mine, and smelt ore from mineral nodes.

Mining requires that you have a mining pick in your inventory. A pick can be purchased in almost any city.

To begin, utilize the find minerals skill. This will allow you to "track" mineral nodes. They will appear as gold dots on your minimap.

After mining the raw ore, take it to a town and find a smelter or forge. These are usually found next to smithing anvils. Smelthing ore results in mineral bars that can be used by various crafting professions. Note - jewelcrafting generally requires raw ore and not smelted bars.

Mineral nodes will also sometimes give not only raw ore but jewels as well.
