Suntara Stones, Part 1

  • Region: Searing Gorge
  • Faction: Alliance
  • Questgiver: Dorius Stonetender, in the pit in Grimesilt Dig Site (34, 61).
  • Objective: Help Dorius get back to Ironforge.
  • XP: 5800
  • Rep: +250 with ironforge

This is an escort quest. Before you begin the quest, you may want to clear out enemies at the dig site. Near the Stonewrough Pass Dorius will be shot down by a Dark Iron Marksman sniper. This completes this quests and unlocks the next one in the chain.

Part 2

  • Questgiver: The signed letter found on the body of Dorius Stonetender.
  • Objective: Take the Singed Letter to Thorius in Ironforge. He is in the Hall of Explorers.
  • Reward: 1 gold 30 silver
  • XP: 5800
  • Rep: +250 with Ironforge

Dwarven Justice

  • Objectives: Return to the Searing Gorge and find Dorius's archeology unit.
  • XP: 5800
  • Rep: +250 with Ironforge

To complete this quest, you must find the Dying Archaeologist in the Slag Pit.


Release Them

  • XP: 5800
  • Rep: +250 with Ironforge
  • Objective: Find the Mysterious Artifact being guarded by the Twilight's Hammer Idolaters in the northwest quadrant of the Searing Gorge and bring it to the Altar of Suntara in the Slag Pit.

The artifact is located in the Twilight Camp just west of Thorium Point. At the top of the camp is a lava pit, and the artifact is located in this pit. Entering the pit will injure or kill you, so stand on the edge of the pit to get the artifact.

Return the artifact to the altar, next to the Dying Archeologist.

Rise, Obsidian!

  • Objectives: Slay Lathoric the Black and Obsidion, and return to Thorius in Ironforge with the Head of Lathoric the Black and the Heat of Obsidion.
  • XP: 8650
  • Rep: +500 with Ironforge
  • Rewards: 1 gold, 30 silver and choice of:
    • Centurion Legplates (legs, plate, green, 443 armor, +15 strength, +15 agility)
    • Lordrec Helmet (head, leather, green, 113 armor, +3 spirit, +16 agility, +10 stamina)
    • Ring of Fortitude (ring, green, +10 stamina, +6 spirit)

Accepting this quest will cause you to be attacked by an obsidian golem, then a dwarf. Defeat both of them.
