World of Warcraft/Tailoring

Tailoring is a World of Warcraft profession that takes cloth and turns in into cloth armor and bags. Cloth drops off most humanoid NPCs in the game, and comes in six different types:

  • Linen
  • Wool
  • Silk
  • Mageweave
  • Runecloth
  • Netherweave (found in Outlands and other Burning Crusade areas)
  • Frostweave (found in Northrend and other Wrath of the Lich King areas)

Unlike most crafting professions, Tailoring does not have a complementary gathering profession. Some characters will take on a gathering profession to earn extra money (selling the materials they find). Others will choose another crafting profession like Enchanting or Inscription.

Classes that can best make use of Tailoring are cloth-wearing magic users. Priests, Mages, and Warlocks can all make use of the cloth armor they create.
