A World of Warcraft Quest


This chain of quests starts in The Hinterlands. It requires a trip to The Blasted Lands and a run through Zul'Farrak. It is only open to Alliance characters.

Witherbark Cages

Location of the cages and the altar.

  • Questgiver: Gryphon Master Talonaxe, in Aerie Peak.
  • Objective: Search cages for the captured Sharpbeak.

The fist two cages are right next to each other at Zun'watha (23, 59) southeast of Arie Peak. The third cage is in Hiri'watha, (32, 57).

The Altar of Zul

  • Objective: Check the top of the Altar of Zul, then return to Gryhpon Master Talonaxe.

Thaduis Grimshade

  • Questgiver: Gryphon Master Talonaxe
  • Objectives: Bring Sharpbeak's Feather to Thaduis Grimshade in the Blasted Lands (Nethergarde Keep).
  • 3000 XP at level 48

Nekrum's Medallion

  • Questgiver: Thaduis Grimshade
  • Prequsite: Thadius Grimshade
  • Reward: 70 silver
  • Objective: Bring Nekrum's Medallion to Thadius Grimshade in the Blasted Lands.
  • +75 rep with Ironforge

The Medallion is found in Zul'Farrak.

  • XP: 9050 at level 50
  • Reward: 70 silver
  • Leads to "The Divination"

The Divination

Wait until he performs his spell.

  • Leads to "Return to the Hinterlands"
  • XP 1500 at level 50
  • +25 rep with Ironforge

Return to the Hinterlands

  • Objective: Speak with Gryhon Master Talonaxe
  • XP 3000 at level 50

Saving Sharpbeak

The red dot is Priestess Hexx, the X is the cave to Sharpbeak.

  • Questgiver: Gryhon Master Talonaxe
  • Objective: Fight to the top of Jintha'Alor, kill Vile Priestess Hexx for the key to Sharpbeak's Cage, and save Sharpbeak
  • Rewards: 2 gold, 25 sliver and choice of
    • Gryphon Rider's Stormhammer (One hand mace, 35.2 DPS, +8 Strength, Chance on hit: Blasts a target for 91 to 125 Nature damage)
    • Gryphon Rider's Leggings
  • XP: 10600

Jintha'Alor is a series of terraces that form one long, narrow path. Unless your character has a stealth ability, you'll have to fight your way in.

Vile Priestess Hex is on the Southwest side of the area (60, 79). She is in the same area as the altar used in the Mallet of Zul’Farrak quest. If you don't already have the mallet, you may want to get to before you go to get both done at the same time.

Sharpbeak in on the other side of Jintha'Alor. To get to him you must pass through the cave on the west side of Jintha'Alor.
